More traffic can be attracted by improving your search engine ranking and that can be done with the help of SEO:
It is mainly of two types:
1) On page: This is done by optimizing your keywords. Use appropriate meta tags for images and keyword rich description. Keyword used should be unique, related to the content with better search volume.

1. Write and submit articles . It is a classic, but it works. This will create traffic for years to come. Write quality unique articles, not articles that are regenerated or provide no insight to readers, which is a huge problem these days.

I would first ask yourself your goal of your website. If it is simply a brochure style website with limited needed uallunctionality, you best bet may be to go with a developer that can just set it up for you. The time and learning curve will be better spent on your business than trying to build your own website. If you plan to continually develop websites, then go with Dreamweaver. You can get templates to use and just easily modify it.

You may spend 80 - 100 hours trying to learn how to build a website, whereas you can pay someone under a thousand usually to set it up for you. It depends how much your time is worth.
